Update: Sorry, but this free offer is now closed. Stay tuned for the next time we give away free accounts!
Flickr has been down for a few hours now. It’s not a knock on them. Any site as popular as Flickr is going to occasionally have brief periods of downtime. It’s really a credit to their engineering team that they don’t go down more often given the massive number of photos they store.
But every time a cloud service goes out, you wonder if your data is ok. That is why we built Backupify – so that you can rest assured your data is ok no matter what happens to these services.
We love Flickr. We have spoken with them about what we are doing. We don’t think you should leave Flickr just because they had a minor mishap. But we do think you should backup your Flickr photos so that you feel safer and know that your photos aren’t at risk of loss.
So to that end, we are offering free accounts to Flickr users (Premium accounts, $39 value) for as long as Flickr is down. All you have to do is:
1. Sign up for a 15 day trial of our premium level account.
2. Send us an email to info-at-backupify-dot-com with your Flickr username and the email address you used to register at Backupify.
3. We will convert your account from a free trial into a full one year account for free.
4. Tell your friends so that they can take advantage of it too.
