[...] October 19th, 2009 (7:00am) Simon Mackie No CommentsTweet This Lifestreambackup, a service that Thursday reviewed back in August, is changing its name to Backupify. As the app now supports backup of several online services (Basecamp, Google Docs, Zoho Writer) that don’t really count as lifestreaming apps, the name was no longer appropriate (and there are some other reasons behind the change, too, as co-founder Rob May explains in this post).
[...] As you know, I’m involved with a startup called LifestreamBackup.com. Well, today we are officially rebranding ourselves Backupify! As it turns out, when you say “lifestream backup” to people outside the social media world, they think you’re an environmental product or nature preserve. We hug trees as much as the next guy or gal, but it’s not what we’re selling. (Rob has more of an explanation on the Backupify blog here.) [...]

For it's worth, this passes my Totally Not Stupid filter. And if you don't snag Andy's comment as a testimonial pull quote, I'll contact Ignat directly and have him do it for you. That's a money line.

Damn, Andy stole my thunder. I was going to write the same thing except not as clever as streamingpile. How about "Big Ass Backup" to piggy back off another successful Kentucky company, Big Ass Fans. Yeah, maybe too close. How about Bad Ass Backup because it is the best backup on the web. Just kidding, keep backupify. No matter what you call, I will keep using it because I am a big ass fan.

Who cares. It's the iPhone of backup systems on the web. Any idiot can see that, no matter what the name. You could call it steamingpile.com and I'd still use it.

Keep up the good work!

I think you should name it "Save To Life" (.com)
The ify will confuse spell check and voice search of the future and lower your Google ranking because it isn't a recognized word
