Hacked Facebook Accounts

One of the most common responses I get when I tell people about Lifestreambackup is that they say they trust the cloud and so they don’t need it. Yet, every week I see hacked accounts, cloud failures, lost data, and all kinds of other things that make me thing people really need to back up their online cloud based services. Just this week there was news that Facebook was under a phishing attack.

Hackers launched an attack on Facebook’s 200 million users on Thursday, successfully gathering passwords from some of them in the latest
campaign to prey on members of the popular social networking site.

It sounds like Facebook did a good job of fighting them off, but what if your Facebook account gets hacked? How can you fix it? One way is to have it backed up with a service like Lifestreambackup.

Our Facebook app for backup launches in a few weeks. In the meantime, maybe I should start a weekly summary post of all the problems in the cloud, to better illustrate why our service is so useful.
